Marketing Communications Manager (m/f/d) for accelerating Biotech Start-Up


For our client, a biotech company specialized in protein expression solutions and on a mission to disrupt the biopharm manufacturing, we are looking for an energetic, passionate, and confident Marketing Communications Manager (m/f/d) to join the international team in Düsseldorf, Germany.

About this job

As a creative and detail-oriented MarCom Manager, your role will be to help communicate values and drive awareness in a rapidly growing and very exciting market segment. You will define the company's content strategy and will build its online presence in markets worldwide, with a particular focus on Europe, Japan, and the United States.

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s internal and external communication planning with strategic, cohesive (digital) marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, create demand, and communicate the companies values and core messages across multiple media platforms
  • Draft and/or review scientific texts to be published on the intranet, corporate website or social media channels and the independent review of scientific publications and their adaption for various corporate materials, articles, or event publications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare, release and launch new marketing material, especially with the sales team
  • Manage the company's overall online presence as well as monitor and manage the company's social media platforms and oversee the company website, i.e. content control and design changes, and propose the content required for optimum SEO
  • Ensure that internal data and external studies are made available to create a constant flow of digital, editorial, and other communication opportunities
  • Coordinate with the Sales team to develop materials for print and the company website to amplify sales activities and participate in lead generation resulting from the various MARCOM activities


What qualifies you for this position

  • Bachelor or Master degree in molecular biology or biotechnology is mandatory
  • Plus an advanced degree in Business, Marketing or Public Relations

  • At least 3 years of comprehensive, relevant digital marketing experience from agency, start-up, or premium consumer brand

  • Proven ability to consistently land features in top-tier editorial and digital press

  • Strong strategic, digital, and holistic end to end thinking, but still excited about doing something for the first time

  • Excellent analytical understanding and ability to translate insights into concepts and actions

  • The ability to build strong relationships, to influence and gain trust

  • Strong knowledge of web analytics and ability to translate performance data into actionable insights to drive core business objectives

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English are mandatory
